"Isabel Packing Winds"
Isabel doesn't look as strong as she was a few days ago, but she's still got plenty of power in her.
It's hard to say right now if we'll get a direct hit, but the closer she gets to land, the more it looks like we're going to be feeling Isabel's fury.
Cape Hatteras and all of Dare County were evacuated at noon yesterday, so we're still waiting on the call here to see if we'll get the notice too.
I'm not sure we'll wait for the green light since the Governor's already declared a state of emergency for North Carolina too now. Virginia's Governor called for a state of emergency the day before, but we're both due to be hit if Isabel keeps up the direction she's going.
The last report I heard she was packing winds of 105 MPH and moving at a rate of 8 miles per hour. We should be feeling more of her affects sometime today. The Perquimans County Middle School will be opened around 3:00 PM today for people seeking shelter.
Everyone is advised to keep a full tank of gas and be prepared to leave early on Wednesday if they're going to do traveling to avoid the storm. Hopefully we things won't get too nasty here, but I don't think most people are taking this storm lightly.
