Each house has been carefully restored to its original beauty, with the furniture accenting its historical value. There are also other buildings that give visitors the chance to see what life in the early eighteenth century was like.
This community of homes is growing, and new projects evolve as time and expenses allow. There's a work shop on the grounds where classes are taught to fellow craftsmen. Visit Hobbs Furniture to see some of the classes and fine craftsmanship built here.
I have personally been on a tour of the houses and grounds, and was truly amazed at how enchanting this small community is. There are plans in the works for several more additions, and I'm looking forward to seeing them completed over time.
Reservations may be made through phone by calling the Beechtree Inn at (252) 426-7815. Each home has it's own unique style, and all houses have standard modern convinces. All houses have cable tv, phone, queen-size beds, private baths, heat/AC, refrigerators, microwaves and fireplaces.
Children are welcome, and check in time is after 2:30 PM. Check out time is at 11:00 AM. Reservations are confirmed with Visa or Master Card. Deposits are refunded with 72 hours' cancellation notice. Cash or personal checks are accepted at check-in as well.
Rooms are all non-smoking, although smoking is permitted on the grounds. Additional people are $10 each. Beechtree Inn is open year round. A hearty country breakfast is served each morning. Refreshments are complimentary with restaurants nearby. |
